Diana Hamilton, Founder & Administrator

After spending most of her adult life in France, Diana came home to assist her ailing mom in 2013. She decided to create the Cat Island Accordion & French in response to a plea for help from Bahamian accordionist Frank Williams to save the dying instrument.

Graeme MacKay, Scottish accordion maestro. He is an international musician and he and his spouse Magdalena Mackay also host a music festival in Scotland. Graeme has developed his own method that allows learners to play songs from the very beginning.

Ophie Webb is one of the last accordionist who plays traditional Goombay or Rake ‘n Scrape. He performed at the Smithsonian Bahamas Islands of Songs event, at the Amazon Festival in France with Diana Hamilton, and in other countries in the Caribbean as well. Ophie’s presence ensures the direct transmission of music passed down by our African ancestors.

Magdalena Mackay is a professional pianist of Polish origin and the spouse of Graeme Mackay. At the Accordion Revival camp, Magdalena teaches piano, voice & Eurhythmics.

Magdalena created a choir during camp, and they pereformed during our happening on the last day of camp.
